The team
Allison Mecher
I grew up in a large family of handymen/women, so building and designing has always been a part of my life. As a child, I would watch my father demo, drywall, build, paint, rewire, and anything in between.
Interior design became a creative outlet for me in law school, and developed into a true passion in 2020. It started with a small outdoor balcony space with some hand-me-down furniture and some extra time at home. Then I started to experiment with wallpaper. One project led to another and I realized that designing and completing these projects had become my happy place.
I absolutely live for a great before and after!
As a full-time fitness professional, I’ve worked early mornings, late evenings and weekends for over 15 years. My home has always been a place to recharge my physical, mental and emotional battery. As a result, I quickly realized the importance of making my home a peaceful, coherent and cozy place to decompress.
Since then, I've taken great pride and pleasure in making each (of the many) “Dahlhouse” I’ve lived in a sanctuary. My aesthetic has evolved over the years, but the value I place in making my home beautiful has remained constant.
To this day, relax whenever I open the door to my curated space, which is a mix of contemporary and antique, new and repurposed, glamorous and comfortable, features hints of purple, gold, shimmer and is 100% me.
